Delete your account
Last updated: 29 August 2026
You can erase your LaCasitaOS account yourself, at any time. There is no waiting period, no support ticket and no confirmation step beyond the one in the app. It is immediate and it cannot be undone.
How to delete it
- Sign in to LaCasitaOS.
- Open Settings, then scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom of the page.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to the email address, or the account was created with Google and that account is gone — write to clerici.teo5@gmail.com from any address you can reach, describing the account. We answer within one month, as Article 12(3) of the GDPR requires, and usually much sooner.
What is deleted
Immediately and permanently:
- your email address, display name and profile photo;
- any reimbursement details you saved — PayPal.me handle, Satispay link, IBAN and the name on the account;
- your billing customer record;
- your push-notification registrations;
- your sign-in itself.
Any active subscription is cancelled at the same moment, so nothing is billed afterwards. Any household in which you were the last remaining member is deleted in full, with every expense, receipt, balance, chore and list in it.
What is kept, and why
Expenses you shared with other people stay on their ledgers, showing the name you used in that household. Your profile there becomes an unclaimed placeholder, exactly as if you had simply left.
This is not a limitation of the software. A shared ledger is joint personal data: “Ana paid €62 and Marco owed €14 of it” is Marco’s record of his own spending just as much as it is Ana’s. Erasing one side of it would not remove a fact — it would leave everybody else with a ledger that no longer adds up.
A one-way hash of your email address. When your account is erased we store a SHA-256 hash of the address — 64 characters that cannot be turned back into it — and nothing else: no name, no id, no link to anything above. Its only use is that a second account registered on the same address starts on the Free tier rather than on a second thirty-day trial. It does not identify you and is not shared.
Subscription and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires — generally several years — even after deletion. That obligation overrides an erasure request for those records specifically, and for nothing else. The record is an invoice and a plan history; it contains no card details, because we never had any.
Deleting data without deleting your account
There is no separate data-deletion request, because there is no separate category of data to delete: leaving a household detaches your name from it, and deleting a household you are alone in removes everything in it. Anything beyond that is covered by the account deletion above, or by writing to clerici.teo5@gmail.com to exercise any of your rights under Articles 15 to 21.
The full detail — what we collect, who processes it and how long it is held — is in the privacy policy.
